Government Committee for Religious receives delegation from Office of International Religious Freedom – US Department of State

On October 6th, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice-Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs had a reception with a delegation from Office of International Religious Freedom – US Department of State led by Mrs. Katherine Lawson.

At the reception, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn welcomed the delegation visit to Vietnam in order to learn about religious life in Vietnam. Mr. Tấn shared with the guests that the Government of Vietnam always implements consistent policies for respect and guarantee of the right to freedom of belief and religion and the right to follow or not to follow a religion.  He also briefed current religious situation in Vietnam and said that thanks to the correct policies of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam, there have been many positive changes in Vietnam’s religious life, religions in Vietnam have co-existed in harmony, and religious followers have actively joined in the construction and defense of the country.

The two sides also discussed some information of the guests’ concern including results of the implementing Directive 01/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism, religious training issues, results of registration of religious meeting groups,…
