GCRA reviews ten-year implementation of the Prime Minister’s Directive for improving Cham people’s life

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) in collaboration with An Giang provincial People’s Committee held a meeting on Sept. 7 to review the ten-year implementation of the Prime Minister’s Directive No.06/2004/CT-TTg on promoting socio-economic development, ensuring order and security in Cham communities.

Vice Chairman of the GCRA Dương Ngọc Tấn, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Thành Lượm and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình co-chaired the conference that attended by representatives from central agencies including the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Committee for Ethnic Minorities, Southwest Steering Committee and administrative authorities in Cham concentrated areas.

During the conference, delegates focused their analyses and discussion on results of ten-year implementation of Directive 06, proposed amendments and supplements for further promoting socio-economic development, ensuring order and security in Cham residential areas.

The conference also confirmed that during ten years of implementing the directive both physical and spiritual life of Cham people have been improved; public security and order have been guaranteed, and religious activities by Cham ethnic people have been conducted in accordance with the laws.
