Director of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA)’s Department of International Relation Nguyễn Đức Vinh hosted a reception on November 10 for a delegation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) led by Elder President of the LDS Church in Asia region Randy D. Funk.
Attending the reception also included representatives of the GCRA’s Department of Protestant Affairs, Chairman of the Chairman of the Vietnam LDS Church’s Representative Committee Hoàng Văn Tùng and the Church’s External Relations Advisor in Vietnam Lewis A. Hassell.
During the reception, Elder Randy D. Funk shared with the hosts social, charitable activities of the LDS Church in Vietnam over the past years and informed that in 2017, the Church will step up organization of free English courses for Vietnamese.
The Elder President in Asia region also took a chance to thank the GCRA for favorable conditions extended to the LDS Church in general and the Vietnam LDS Church’s Representative Committee in particular.
Speaking to the guests, Director Nguyễn Đức Vinh expressed his delight at the Church’s contributions benefiting Vietnamese people and suggested the LDS Church would continue supporting to the Vietnam LDS Church’s Representative Committee and followers.
