A delegation from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chứcg paid visits on December 5-6 to Southern dioceses of Long Xuyen, Can Tho, Vinh Long and Phu Cuong, ahead of Christmas 2021.
During the visiting receptions, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức extended merry Christmas 2021 and Happy New Year 2022 to the bishops, priests and lay Catholics in the dioceses. He also highlighted practical contributions made by Catholic dignitaries, deacons and parishioners to the success of the 13th National Party Congress, the electing of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure, and the Covid-19 prevention over the past year.

In the complicated context of the Covid-19 variants, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chức expressed hope that the bishops, priests and lay Catholics would continue observing Covid-19 prevention measures guided by the Government, the Ministry of Health, the GCRA and local authorities, and launching social and charitable programs for supporting the poor and people affected by the pandemic.
