Speaking at the event, while extending congratulations to the Baptist church’s new executive committee in the 2022-2026 tenure, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng expressed hope that the church would continue promoting its fine values and guiding members to practice religion according to the state’s laws and the church’s motto, and practically contribute to socio-economic development in the country.
The 4th general assembly of the Vietnam Baptist Church took place on March 30 - 31 with the participation of more than 400 delegates from 50 provinces and cities in the country. The two-day event reviewed the church’s affairs in the 2016-2021 period, mapped out plans and elected the church's new executive committee for 2022-2026 tenure.
As reported at the event, during the 2016-2021 period, the Baptist church has spent over 17 billion VND on social charities, including supports valued at over three billion VND presented to the Covid-19 prevention work and disadvantaged people severely affected by the epidemic.
