Speaking at the visiting reception, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn praised the center for its efforts to meet vocational skills for society and support people with disadvantages in the locality. He also expressed hope that Dong Thuan vocational training center would continue providing professional skills for the poor.

Dong Thuan vocational training center was established by priests and clergies of the Congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco on the area of 2.7ha. Since 2008, while pending for completion, the center has started to operate with 50 young enrollees every year.

However, according Priest Director Vũ Kim Long, in 2016, Dong Thuan vocational training center received 136 students, mainly those youth who dropped out of school or have social disadvantages.

Every month, each student has only to pay 800,000 VND for meals and 250,000 VND for school fee and the center provides free lodging for them during vocational training. Especially, the center presents from 10 to 15 scholarships (each scholarship worth from 200,000 to 735,000 VND) to students with outstanding achievements in learning and observing the center’s rules.
