GCRA leader receives Vietnam General Baptist Church

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted a reception on January 09 for a visiting delegation from the Vietnam General Baptist Church on occasion of New Year 2019

The Baptist delegation was led by Pastor Lê Quốc Huy, President of Vietnam General Baptist Church. Joining the delegation included Pastor Johnny Marshall Hunt – Head of the First Baptist Church in Woodstock and Former President of the Southern Baptist Convention, Pastor  Daniel Lowell Akin – President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Samuel James – Former Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission, Pastor Dr. John Henry Ewart – Deputy President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Pastor Jimmy Chris Dixon – Head of Liberty Baptist Church in Dublin, all from the U.S.

At the reception

During the reception, Pastor Dr.Daniel Lowell Akin shared with the GCRA official about the Southeastern Baptist theological seminary and its cooperation in theological training with the Vietnam general Baptist church. He also invited leaders of the GCRA to visit the Southeastern Baptist theological seminary in the coming time.

Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà had exchanges with American pastors on GCRA’s activities and the religious life in Viet Nam. He expressed hope that pastors of Baptist churches and Southeastern Baptist theological seminary would continue supporting religious training of the Vietnam General Baptist Church in the coming time.

Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà also sent wishes of good health and success to members of the Baptist delegation on the occasion of New Year 2019 and thanked Dr. Daniel Lowell Akin for inviting the GCRA to visit the Southeastern Baptist theological seminary.
