Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted a reception for the visiting delegation of Protestant deacons from Tuyen Quang province on July 26.
The delegation led by Head of Tuyen Quang provincial Home Affairs’ Religion Division Hà Vương Thanh comprised of 15 members including ten key Protestants of two meeting groups chosen to be recognized as local religious organizations within a pilot program.
Welcoming the delegation included leaders of the GCRA’s departments and divisions.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà spoke highly of the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Directive 01 regarding Protestantism in Tuyen Quang province, and praised Protestant deacons for their positive contributions in encouraging ethnic people to practice the religion in accordance with State laws.
Protestantism in Tuyen Quang province has about 8,000 followers under five denominations with 47 out of 60 meeting groups granted registration for religious activities.
