Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng led a delegation to visit and meet with Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese Paul Bùi Văn Đọc on November 9.
Joining the delegation were Vice Chairman of the GCRA Trần Tấn Hùng and representatives from the GCRA’s Southern Religious Affairs Department.
During the visiting reception, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc, priests and Catholic followers in the archdiocese. He also expressed hope that all religions including Catholicism would stay closely attached to and accompany with the nation, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
Archbishop Pau Bùi Văn Đọc took the chance to thank the GCRA delegation for the visit and hoped that the relationship between the Vietnam Catholic Church and the Government in general, the GCRA in particular would further be developed, contributing to social stability and prosperity in the country.
