On December 21, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà paid a Christmas visit to the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (North).
Welcoming the Vice Chairman included Pastor President of the ECVN (North) Nguyễn Hữu Mạc and pastors from the ECVN Executive Committee.
On behalf of the GCRA, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà extended Christmas greetings to the Church’s dignitaries and followers, as well as spoke highly of the Church’s achievements in the past year, especially in social and charitable activities made by the ECVN.
During the reception, the Vice Chairman exchanged with the hosts on the drafting process of Law of belief and religion. He also affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always respects and guarantees the right to freedom of belief and religion for every Vietnamese.
Speaking at the event, Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc shared that the organization of Christmas 2015 has many changes; instead of organizing big events as in the past year, this year, the Protestant Churches and congregations will celebrate the festival on a smaller scale and at different times, and last throughout the Christmas week. In addition, charitable activities will take place along with the Christmas celebrating programs.
