On December 3, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn chaired a seminar on Halal certification in Vietnam.
Attending the event included representatives from the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Health.
At the event, the participants made in-depth discussion on model of Halal certification, establishment of a Halal certification centre in Vietnam and its draft regulation on organization and operation, technical support, material facilities and organizational models, as well as responsibilities of concerning ministries and agencies.
The organization of the seminar aimed to implement a directive of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc on study and support of the establishment of a Halal certification for boosting Halal production in Vietnam.
Concluding the event, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn called on the ministries and agencies to work closely for helping the Islamic community in Vietnam establishing a Halal certification centre, contributing to promote export of Halal goods as well as strengthen economic and trade relations between Vietnam and other Islamic countries.
