The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on March 22 a seminar to gather comments on a drafting decree guiding the implementation of the passed Law on Belief and Religion.
The event was presided over by Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and attended by Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn and representatives of the GCRA’s departments.
As reported, the Law on Belief and Religion was adopted by the 14th National Assembly at its second session. The new Law, with 09 chapters, 08 sections and 68 articles, will officially take effect on January 1, 2018.
After the NA’s approval of the law, the Vietnamese government has assigned the GCRA to draft a decree for detailing and providing measures for implementation of certain contents of the Law on Belief and Religion, including the state recognition of religious organizations, dissolution of religious organizations, registration of religious dignitaries involved foreign elements, fund-raising by religious organizations, and violations of the law and administrative remedies and sanctions.
