On May 14-15, a delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by its Deputy Chief of Office Nguyễn Văn Long paid visits to Buddhist dignitaries in provinces of Thanh Hoa and Quang Binh on occasion of the Buddha Birthday Festival 2016 – B.E 2560.
During the visits, the GCRA delegation met with Venerable Chairman of Thanh Hoa provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Tâm Đức in Thanh Ha Pagoda in Thanh Hoa city and Venerable Chairman of Quang Binh provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Tánh Nhiếp in Dai Giac Pagoda in Dong Hoi city.
On behalf of the GCRA’s leaders, Deputy Chief Nguyễn Văn Long extended best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers in the two provinces on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2016. He also asked the VBS in the provinces to continue encouraging and guiding followers to actively engage in local movements for boosting socio-economic development in the localities.
