A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) paid a working visit to the Philippines from May 3-6.
The delegation comprised of seven members led by GCRA’s Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng and joint by representatives of GCRA’s several departments and divisions.
During the working visit, the GCRA delegation had exchange meetings on religion and religion-related issues in the Philippines with Auxiliary Bishop of Manila Archdiocese Broderick Soncuaco Pabillo, Under Secretary of the Office of Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Ronald I. Flores, and the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Trương Triều Dương.
The visit contributed to better understand the state governance on religious affairs and the relation between the state and religion in the Philippines, especially Catholicism – the dominant religion followed by 85% of the population in the country.
