GCRA delegation meets with religious training institutions in An Giang

A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Director of the Department of Legislation and Inspection Nguyễn Thị Định visited and had an exchange meeting with religious training schools in An Giang province.

The meeting focused on the teaching of law and history subjects in the religious training institutions.

As reported at the meeting, An Giang province currently has Buddhist Intermediate School and Hoa Hao Buddhist College.

Over the past time, the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs has implemented guidelines of the GCRA for teaching two subjects of law and history, and handed over the textbook of the two subjects to the two religious training institutions and several religious organizations in the province.

The provincial religious committee also asked An Giang University to support the teaching of these two subjects in these two schools.

Up to now, the Buddhist Intermediate School has started the teaching of the Vietnamese history subject. Works related to the preparation of the teaching program, textbooks, exam questions, exam scores, etc. are all implemented in accordance with the state laws.

For Hoa Hao Buddhist College, it is expected to enroll the first course by the end of 2021.

Speaking at the meeting, while praising efforts of the provincial religious committee towards implementing the GCRA’s guidelines on the teaching of the two subjects, Director of the GCRA’s Legislation and Inspection Department Nguyễn Thị Định expressed hope that religious training schools would  provide feedbacks for improving teaching materials of the two subjects, integrate the local history with Vietnamese history in the teaching process to impress learners, and continue to comment on contents related to the formation and development, teachings and canon law of religions in the Vietnamese history’s textbook.
