A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) extended on June 18 a visit to Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Central Information and Communications Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the VBS’s Magazine for Buddhist Studies, on occasion of the 96th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The delegation was led by Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga, and joint by Director of GCRA’s Buddhist Affairs Department Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên, Head of the Information Center’s Information Division under the GCRA Bùi Quang Nhượng, and Deputy Head of the Religious Affairs Magazine’s Editorial Division under the GCRA Lương Hồng Lý.
During the visit taking place at Lien Phai pagoda located in Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung district, while extending congratulations to Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang and members of the VBS information & communications committee and Buddhist studies magazine on the Vietnam revolutionary press day, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga spoke highly of practical contributions of the VBS’s media in promoting fine traditions of Buddhism to lay Buddhists and people in the country. During the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic’s spread, the Buddhist media units have also proactively disseminated regulations on prevention measures against the pandemic by the Prime Minister, the GCRA and local authorities to lay Buddhists, the government religious committee official stated.

Speaking with the guests, Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang thanked the GCRA for its attention to the communication work of the VBS over the past years. The most venerable stated that the VBS’s media will continue promoting spiritual values of Buddhism to the people in the country and well coordinating the communication work in order for Buddhists to better observe the Party’s policies and state laws.
