Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Caritas congress held in Thai Binh diocese cathedral on October 25.
The GCRA leader was accompanied by Vice Chairman of the GCRA Dương Ngọc Tấn, Acting Director of Catholic affairs Department under the GCRA Lê Minh Khánh and Chairman of Thai Binh provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Quang Minh.

Addressing the event, while congratulating the Vietnam Caritas on its important event, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng highly acknowledged Vietnam Caritas’ positive contributions over the past five years to social charities. He also expressed hope that the Vietnam Caritas would continue promoting fine traditions and closely joining hand with state authorities for better sharing and helping the poor.
On the occasion, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng also met and held exchanges with Bishop of Thai Binh diocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Đệ.
The congress of Vietnam Charitable and Social Action Committee (Caritas) under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam taking place on October 23-27 draw the participation of Cardinal Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn, Bishop Chairman of Caritas Vietnam Thomas Vũ Đình Hiệu, members of Caritas Vietnam and about 100 delegates representing Caritas from 26 dioceses in the country.
