The Scientific Council under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on November 4 a meeting to evaluate results of a project on Protestantism.
The evaluation meeting of the project “Surveying the current situation of unrecognized Protestant organizations, groups and sects in Vietnam - recommendations and solutions” was attended by members of the scientific council and the project’s management board (Department of Protestant Affairs), as well as representatives of the GCRA’s departments and units.
According to the GCRA’s statistic data, currently, in addition to 11 registered and recognized Protestant organizations in Vietnam, there are nearly 80 unregistered or unrecognized Protestant congregations and groups in the country.
During the meeting, the GCRA’s scientific council considered an in-depth research on these Protestant groups as practically necessary and regarded results of the project on unregistered and unrecognized Protestant organizations, congregations and sects as comprehensive and satisfactory, and can be used as references for developing guidelines and policies for these Protestant groups in the coming time.
