A conference to reviews religious affairs in Southern Vietnam in the first quarter of 2016 was held on April 29 at the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Southern Office in Ho Chi Minh city.
The event chaired by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng.
Attending the meeting included representatives from the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Social Security Department based in Ho Chi Minh city, and officials of the Department for Southern Religious Affairs of the GCRA.
The meeting accessed overall situation of religious affairs in the southern region in the first quarter of 2016. In general, religious practices have been conducted normally and on a stable basis, in accordance with the religious charters and mottos of action.
The meeting also agreed on the organization of the quarterly meeting on religious affairs for a close coordination of the central agencies in Ho Chi Minh city, with the GCRA as a focal point. This quarterly meeting will be held by the GCRA, the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Social Security Department respectively, contributing to better address issues relating to the state administration on religious affairs in the Southern region.
