The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in collaboration with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on December 31 an exchange meeting on the two-year implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree 162.
The event was co-chaired by Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng and Vice President of the VFF Ngô Sách Thực and attended by representatives from central agencies, religious organizations and experts of the religious affairs advisory council under the VFF.
During the seminar, delegates focused their discussion on the registration of collective religious practices, the appointment, election and nomination of religious deacons, the establishment, division, separation, incorporation or merger of dependent religious organizations, the coordination amongst relevant agencies in solving issues relating to belief and religion.

Addressing the event, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng noted that the Law on Belief and Religion has created the main legal corridor for the state administration on belief and religion in the country and since the Law and Decree 162 took effect in January 2018, its implementation has brought encouraging results.
Concluding the event, Vice President Ngô Sách Thực highly appreciated efforts of the GCRA in the guiding the implementation of the new law on belief and religion and stated that the GCRA and the VFF would continue their coordination in monitoring the implementation of the Law and its guiding decree.
