Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng extended on December 15 visits to Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese and the Vietnam Adventist Church, ahead of Christmas 2021.
Accompanying the deputy minister included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức, Director of the GCRA’s Southern Religious Affairs Department Trà Quang Thanh and Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương.
During the visits, the home affair ministry officials met with Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese Joseph Nguyễn Năng and Pastor Head of the Vietnam Adventist Church Trần Thanh Truyện.
While extending pre-Christmas greetings to all Catholic and Protestant followers, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated practical contributions made by Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese and the Adventist church in particular, and religious organizations in general, for the Covid-19 prevention work and helping disadvantaged people badly affected by the pandemic.

On the occasion, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng also conveyed congratulations of State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and Chairman of the Organization Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Trương Thị Mai to Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese and Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng.
