Delegation from Caodai Tay Ninh Church in Dong Thap province visits the Government Committee for Religious Affairs

On March 28 2014, at the headquarter of Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, Vice – Chairman of the GCRA received a delegation from Caodai Tay Ninh Church in Dong Thap province led by priest Thái Quang Thanh. Attending the reception was also Mr. Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn, Director of Department of Caodaism Affairs.

At the reception, priest Thái Quang Thanh briefed the religious situation as well as the results of Caodai Tay Ninh Church in Dong Thap province over the past years. Currently, Caodai Tay Ninh Church in Dong Thap province has 26 parishes with 26 shrines, the number of dignitaries, deacons and followers about is 41,000 people. The parishes are active in joining the rural development movement and charity activities in the locality such as upgrading roads, helping poor patients, building houses of compassion…. According to statistic in terms of charity activities in 5 years (2008 - 2013), the Caodai Tay Ninh Church has raised more than 8 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân highly appreciated the results of the Caodai Tay Ninh church in Dong Thap province over the past years. From the renovation to now, the Vietnamese Party and State always pay due attention to the people’s life and their spiritual need as well as respect and guarantee their right to freedom of belief and religion. The religious organizations have conducted religious activities in accordance with the law. In the past years, 10 Churches and 01 practicing organization of Caodaism have been recognized by the State and operated in accordance with the law. The Churches actively joined in religious and social activities, implemented the guidelines and policies of the Party and State. From good results of the Caodaism achieved in the innovation period, he expressed his hope that the dignitaries, deacons and followers of Caodai Tay Ninh in Dong Thap province in particular and the Caodaism in general will continue to promote unity among Caodai Churches and unity between Caodaism and other religions, and contributing to social - economic development in the locality.
