The Central Council for Defense-Security Education in association with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) opened on July 24 in Ha Tinh province a conference for providing defense-security knowledge for 125 key members of several religious organizations in provinces and cities in Military Region 4.
Speaking at the event’s opening ceremony event, while praising practical contributions by religious followers and organization to the cause of national construction and defense in the country, Chairman of the government religious committee Vũ Chiến Thắng stressed the need for enhancing updated information on the defense-security work. He also asked the conference’s organization board to pay due attention to comments and opinions by participating religious believers for overcoming limitations and remaining issues in the security-defense work.

Main topics presented at the conference focused on the Party and State’s viewpoints and policies on protecting national security and building of the people’s defense and people’s security, the Party and State’s standpoints and policies on ethnicity and religion in attachment to defense and security in the new period; basic contents of the Law on Belief and Religion and practical issues relating defense-security enhancement.
The conference is taking place until July 26. A similar conference is also expected to be held for key religious followers in the 5th Military Region in the coming week in Gia Lai province.
