Conference to gather comments on document guiding State management on the worship of Mother Goddess

On September 10, 2013 the Government Committee for Religious Affairs held a conference to collect opinions on a document guiding on State management on the worship of Mother Goddess.

Participants to the event were Mr. Duong Ngoc Tan and Mr. Bui Thanh Ha, Vice Chairmen of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs; representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party Central Committee’s Commissions for Mass Mobilization, and for Popularization and Education, the Ministry of Public Security and the Government Office; and leaders, officials and experts from of the Committee’s departments.

The delegates emphasized that pursuant to Articles 3 and 4 of Decree No. 92/2012/ND-CP dated November 8, 2012 detailing and providing measures for the implementation of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion, the contents of the guiding document are very clear, meeting the legitimate aspiration of the people and helping local authorities effectively address existing problems.

Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, urged that the document guiding on State management regarding the worship of Mother Goddess must ensure the people’s right to freedom of belief and religion; guide and manage activities worshipping Mother Goddess and the conservation and promotion of its good values; and prevent the abuse of the belief to seek profit, affecting the spiritual life of the society.
