Vung Tau city currently has six operative religions including Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodaism, the Pure Land Buddhist Association, the Minh Su religion with 130 religious establishments and 30 worshipping places of folk beliefs.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of Vung Tau city Party Committee Lê Xuân Tươi extended New Year wishes to religious followers and took the chance to acknowledge important contributions of religious followers to the socio-economic development. It’s reported that in 2014, the religious dignitaries and followers actively participated in social charities such as providing supports to the poor, conducting health check and free distribution of medicines to poor patients… with an estimated cost of 2.847 billion VND.
