Vinh Long provincial government holds annual meeting with Khmer monks on occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay Festival

Heads of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagodas in Vinh Long province participated in the annual meeting held by the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee on April 5, on occasion of Khmer traditional New Year Festival Chol Chnam Thmay.
The event also saw the participation of key Khmer people who are working or used to work at the provincial agencies and departments.
During the meeting, while extending congratulatory wishes to local Khmer officials and dignitaries, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Văn Rón encouraged the VFF Committee in the province and local authorities to actively work with the Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist monks and the Khmer Theravada Buddhism’s dignitaries for further strengthening the national unity bloc, improving Khmer people’s material and spiritual life, as well as promoting the cultural values and fine traditions of the Khmer Theravada Buddhism.
