A delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee led by Vice President Lê Bá Trình met with Most Venerable Chairman of Kien Giang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee Danh Nhưỡng on May 15, on occasion of the Buddha Birthday’s Festival 2016.
The delegation members include Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council cum Member of the VFF Central Committee and representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University.
During the visiting reception, Vice Chairman Lê Bá Trình extended best wishes to Most Venerable Danh Nhưỡng, and expressed his hope that the Most Venerable would continue making practical contributions to the development of the VBS and VFF, as well as the religious and national unity in the country.
Speaking to the guests, Most Venerable Danh Nhưỡng, shared his hope that the VFF Central Committee would continue creating favorable conditions for the VBS affairs, especially the restoration and upgrade of Buddhist worshipping places and Buddhist training for Khmer Theravada Buddhism.
Currently, Most Venerable Danh Nhưỡng holds several positions in the VBS, and the VFF hierarchies including Vice Patriarch of the VBS Discernment Council, Director of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Institute and Member of the VFF Central Committee.
