On the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Hòa Hảo Buddhism, on June 27, President of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyễn Thiện Nhân sent a congratulating letter to the Central Executive Committee, deacons and followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism.
The letter highlighted that upon its founding, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Central Executive Committee and followers have upheld and preserved orthodox teachings, promoted fine ethical values and traditions of unity, close attachment to and accompany with the nation. Typical contributions included social and charitable activities, such as providing rice, porridge in hospitals and social centers, building charity houses and local transport systems, providing relief for victims of natural calamities, supports to poor people, conducting medical checks and free distribution of medicines…
The VFF also recognized and appreciated Hoa Hao Buddhism’s positive contributions to the national construction and defense over the past years. He expressed his belief that with the motto “for Dharma, for Nation” and the principle “Study Buddhism, Cultivate human virtues”, the Central Executive Committee and followers of Hoa Hoa Buddhist Church would continue to strengthen national unity, promote fine traditions and support the campaigns launched by the VFF for building “wealthy people, strong country, and equitable, democratic and civilized society”.
