VFF leader visits Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, Member of the Politburo Nguyễn Thiện Nhân paid a visit to Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese on June 21.

Speaking at the visiting meeting, Mr. Nguyễn Thiện Nhân called on the Catholic dignitaries and followers to actively participate in the great all-nation unity bloc, together with Vietnamese people for building and defending the country in the new period, particularly through charitable –social activities such as environmental protection, family education, development of preschool education and guarantee of traffic safety…

During the reception, Mr. Chairman acknowledged contributions made by Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc in encouraging Catholics to accompany with and stay  closely attached to the nation. He also expressed his hope that the Archbishop would continue to persuade Catholic dignitaries and followers to participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development as well as the building of the great all-nation unity bloc.

VFF President Central Committee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân and Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc also agreed on a number of social programs that need coordination between  the VFF Committee and the Catholic Bishops Conference of Vietnam in the coming time.
