Tien Giang provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee held a conference on October 17 to review the annual implementation of programs for the poor.
Attending the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huỳnh Văn Hải and Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Huệ Minh.
As reported at the conference, the one-year movement “Fund for the poor” raised over VND 70 billion, in which the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee contributed VND 500 million.
During the event, Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to the Buddhist Chapter’s Executive Committee and seven other groups for their contributions to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the province.
