During the meeting, the city authorities presented certificates of merit to 17 religious groups and 15 religious followers for their practical contributions to social charities in the locality. 

As reported at the event, during the year 2016, religious organizations in the city proactively supported and made practical contributions to social movements for developing civilized cultural lifestyles in residential areas; Buddhist Sangha in Vung Tau city has raised over VND 18 billion for social, charitable activities, of which 2.4 billion VND has been sent to support people affected by floods in Vietnam Central.
