Quang Binh provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held on January 15 a meeting with members of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in the province ahead of the Lunar New Year 2019.
Attending the event included Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department Phan Ngọc Duy, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Tánh Nhiếp, officials from the Home Affairs Department and members of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee.
During the event, while extending Lunar New Year greetings to dignitaries and followers of the Buddhist chapter, Deputy Director Phan Ngọc Duy briefed on results of socio-economic development in the locality over the past year. He also called on Buddhist dignitaries to encourage local Buddhists to promote fine traditions and actively participate in social movements launched by local authorities.
