On February 8, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Lê Văn Hưởng led a delegation to visit the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee on occasion of Thuong Nguon Festival (the 15th of the 1st lunar month).
Joining the delegation included representatives of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization and Religious Affairs Committee.
Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Huệ Minh and Buddhist monks and nuns welcomed the guests.
While extending congratulatory wishes to Buddhists, Chairman Lê Văn Hưởng stated that the local authorities would continue creating favorable conditions for all religions in general and Buddhism in particular to conduct religious practices in accordance with religious charters and State laws.
