The event saw the participation of Secretary of the Party Committee cum Chairman of People’s Council in Thanh Hoa province Trịnh Văn Chiến, Venerable Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee Thích Tâm Đức, and large numbers of local authorities’ representatives and Buddhist dignitaries in the province.

During the meeting, while extending congratulatory greetings to local Buddhist dignitaries and followers, Mr. Trịnh Văn Chiến praised the provincial VBS’s Buddhist Chapter for its practical contributions in promoting social unity as well as building and defending the country. He also urged Buddhists to engage in social-charitable activities and actively participate in patriotic movements, contributing to socio-economic development in the province for the coming time.

As reported at the meeting, the Buddhist Chapter in Thanh Hoa province contributed nearly VND 12 billion to social, charitable activities in 2016.
