Bishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh of Thanh Hoa diocese, priests and sisters from the Lovers of the Holy Cross attended the meeting.

Local officials at the meeting included Mr. Trần Văn Chiến, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Mrs. Lê Thị Thìn, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and local authorities’ leaders.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Văn Chiến briefed about local socio-economic situation and security in 2014 as well as highlighted roles of Catholic dignitaries in guiding Catholics to comply with the laws, actively participate in movements for the national unity and properous.

He also presented gifts to Catholic dignitaries and followers in Thanh Hoa diocese and extended best wishes and merry Christmas to Catholics.

On behalf of dignitaries and followers in Thanh Hoa diocese, Bishop Nguyễn Chí Linh expressed his sincere thanks to Catholics and stated that he would encourage followers to observe policies and laws of the Party and State and make practical contribution to the national construction and defense.
