Thai Nguyen province reviews religious affairs 2014

Thai Nguyen provincial People’s Committee reviewed religious affairs in 2014 and mapped out working plans for 2015 at a conference held on Feb. 6.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’ Committee Đặng Viết Thuần chaired the conference.

Attending the conference included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn and representatives from the local authorities.

Currently, Thai Nguyen has three operative religions recognized by the state namely Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism. In 2014, the local authorities created favorable conditions for religious activities of organizations and religious groups have actively participated in social and charitable activities, contributing to the great national unity bloc and development of the locality.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn highlighted results of the State governance on religious affairs in the locality over the past year. He stated that in 2015  the GCRA in particular and the State sector on religious affairs in general shall focus on completing the draft law on belief and religion and reviewing ten-year implementation of the Party’s Resolution 25 of the 7th Central Party Committee (9th plenum) on religious affairs.

On this occasion, Ministry of Home Affairs presented the medal “for the cause of State governance on religious affairs” to five individuals of the locality. The GCRA presented a certificated of merit to an organization and two individuals for outstanding achievements in the development of the State governance on religious affairs in 2014.
