Thai Binh, Hai Duong provinces hold exchange meeting on state religious affairs

On March 22, Hai Duong and Thai Binh provincial authorities held a meeting in Thai Binh province to exchange experiences in the state administration on belief and religion in the two localities.

Attending the meeting included Chairman of Thai Binh provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization cum Vice Chairman of the provincial Steering Committee on belief, religion and human rights Nguyễn Tiến Thành and Chairman of Hai Duong provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Đặng Việt Cường.

During the meeting, delegates exchanged on the religion and state administration on religious affairs in provinces of Thai Binh and Hai Duong. Officials from the two provinces shared good experiences in addressing issues regarding the state governance on belief and religious affairs in the localities, especially the administration of belief-related and religious land.  

As reported at the meeting, Thai Binh province currently has three operative religions, namely Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism, with 29,000 followers accounting for 16% of the total population, over 5,000 worshipping places, and nearly 500 belief-related  festivals.
