Large numbers of high-ranking state officials and religious dignitaries visited and met with new Archbishop of Hue archdiocese cum newly appointed President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh on January 9.
Meeting with Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Lê Trường Lưu, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Cao, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee Mai Thức, and representatives of local religious organizations.
During the meeting receptions, visiting state authorities and religious dignitaries extended congratulatory greetings to the Catholic archbishop on occasion of being selected as the CBCV’s President and his recent appointment as Archbishop of Hue archdiocese by the Vatican.
