The Bung Kham Festival has formally opened on February 27 in Lang Son province’s Trang Dinh district, starting the spring festival 2018 in the province.
According to Vice Chairman of Trang Dinh district People’s Committee Đỗ Đức Thịnh, Bung Kham festival dedicated to the gods of agriculture, deities and fairies who protect crops and bring prosperity for villagers throughout the year. Each year, the festival with the participation of 24 villages is held on the 12th days of Lunar New Year. The festival consists of two main parts of traditional rituals and folk games such as lion dance, pushing sticks, tossing, cooking contest, etc. Each village prepares an offering made of fruits, cakes, wine, etc…. for the deities with prayers for peace, happiness, and pumper harvest. |
