Son Tay town honors “Good People, Good Deeds” in Catholic communities

On June 23, Son Tay town Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics organized a conference to honor “Good People, Good Deeds” in Catholic communities for 2010-2015 period.

Currently, Son Tay town is home to 658 Catholic households with 2,608 followers. Over the past years, the campaign “All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas and live a better secular and religious life” has been implemented in all parishes in the locality. Many households in parishes have worked hard to develop businesses, apply new technology in agricultural production, gradually improve their life and strengthen unity and mutual support…. Today, eight out of 13 parishes received the title “cultural village”, 95% of Catholic household were awarded the title “cultural family”; poor Catholic households decrease to 4.6% of the Catholic population.

On this occasion, Son Tay town People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented a certificate of merit to nine individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement “Good People, Good Deeds” for 2010-2015 period.
