Soc Trang provincial authorities hold traditional New Year meeting with local religious leaders

Soc Trang provincial government organized a meeting with local dignitaries of religions on February 9, on occasion of the Lunar New Year 2017.

During the meeting, Secretary of Soc Trang provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Văn Thể hailed local religious organizations for their practical contributions to social unity and development in the province over the past years. He also asked religious dignitaries to promote fine traditions for strengthening the great all-nation unity bloc and encourage followers of religions to further contribute to socio-economic development in the locality.
Soc Trang province is home to over 630,000 followers of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodai sects and Hoa Hao Buddhism…, with 728 religious worshipping establishments.
