Ba Don town in the central province of Quang Binh held on March 15 a meeting to review the implementation of the Party’s resolution on religious affairs since its issuance in 2003.
Attending the meeting included officials representing the town’s concerning offices and heads of communes in the town.
The meeting focused on discussion and analyses of results and shortcomings in the implementation of the resolution No 25-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee on religious affairs adopted in 2003 and related documents issued by the provincial government of Quang Binh, and put forward recommendations for solving remaining issues as well as better implementing tasks regarding religious affairs at present and in the coming time.
Currently Ba Don town is home to over 37,000 Catholic followers residing in 14 out of all 16 communes, accounting for 33% of the local population, with 12 parishes and 34 communities. There are also a small number of followers of Buddhism and Protestantism in the town.
