Religious dignitaries, deacons in Southwest region attend security & defense knowledge course

About 120 religious dignitaries and deacons from 12 provinces and cities in the Southwest region have attended a conference for fostering knowledge of security and defense held on July 11-13 in Can Tho city. 

The training event was organized by the Security and Defense Education Central Council in collaboration with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA).

Attending the conference’s opening ceremony included Senior Lieutenant Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Nguyễn Phương Nam, Major General Head of the Department of Civil Defense and Militia Forces under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Nguyễn Duy Nguyên, Chief of GCRA's Office Dương Văn Khá and Vice Chairman of Can Tho city’s People Committee Lê Văn Tâm.

The three-day conference focused on the State’s policies on national security & defense and concerning issues, with the aim to enhance religious dignitaries and deacons’ knowledge of defense and security, as well as their awareness of civil obligations and responsibility in encouraging followers to make practical contributions in the cause of building and defending the country.
