On November 22, the Southwestern Steering Committee and An Giang provincial People’s Committee co-organized a conference on the history of Vietnam’s Southern land for key ethnic and religious people in the locality.
The event saw the participation of Vice Chairman of the Southwestern Steering Committee Trần Minh Thống, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình and over 300 delegates who are prestigious people of ethnic communities and dignitaries and deacons of religions in An Giang province.
During the event, Ph.D, Historian Head of the Institute of Vietnamese Records Nguyễn Khắc Thuần briefed the development history of the Southern region and legal grounds for asserting Vietnamese sovereignty over the Southern region.
