Religious Committee in An Giang extends Chol Chnam Thmay Festival’s greetings to Khmer people

On April 14, Chairman of An Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Nguyên Châu led a delegation to visit local Khmer people in the province’s districts of Tinh Bien and Tri Ton, on occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay Festival.
During the visiting receptions, while extending best wishes to the all Khmer Buddhist followers and people, Chairman Lê Nguyên Châu expressed hope that Khmer people would promote social unity and join hands with local authorities and people for making practical contributions to socio-economic development in An Giang province.
The Chol Chnam Thmay Festival is the traditional New Year for Khmer people. It is the biggest festival of the year marking the end of the dry season and the beginning of a new year and new crops.
