Over 700 participants representing local authorities and religious organizations in Dong Thap province attended on June 2 a public meeting in response to the World Environment Day.
The event held with the theme “Live in Harmony with Natural Environment” by the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee featured significant activities, including the collection and disposal of garbage in residential areas, the distribution of posters and leaflets for mobilizing the implementation of the “cleaning houses, kitchens and streets” program and the planting of flowers and more than 2,000 trees, etc.
The meeting contributed to enhance the role and responsibility of local people including religious followers in environmental protection.
