The Ministry of Public Security organized a meeting on June 7 in Ha Nam to review the work of ensuring order and security for the 16th UN Day of Vesak.
During the UN Day of Vesak 2019, the functional forces under the Ministry of Public Security and police units in Ha Nam and neighboring localities made special efforts for ensuring public security and traffic order as well as absolute safety for heads of state, high-ranking officials at the event.
In spite of the huge number of visitors, especially at the opening ceremony of the UN Day of Vesak, the public security forces have successfully completed the task of ensuring security and order during the event, creating a good impression for international delegates.
Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Bùi Văn Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security praised great efforts of the functional forces under the Ministry of Public Security and police units in localities for ensuring security, order and safety for the 2019 UN Day of Vesak.
The 16th UN Day of Vesak 2019 held on May 12-14 at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center in Ha Nam drew the participation of over 1,600 international delegates from 112 countries and territories, over 3,000 domestic delegates, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, and nearly one million visitors.
