To promote the glorified tradition of Uncle Ho’ Soldiers, officers of Regiment BB 95 have always attached its importance to keep close relations with local people.

For years, the regiment has sent its officers and soldiers to closely join hands with local authorities in implementing practical activities for locals, including frequent social and charitable visits to poor Catholic families and parishes. Especially, the Regiment has conducted the program ‘Eradication of hunger for one household and reduction of poverty for one family’. In 2014, the regiment provided supports of tens of working days, animals for raising and rice to 6 families with special difficulties.

Mr. Y Khuong, a Catholic in Krong village of Thong Nhat ward shared that solders from Regiment BB95 came to help his family with coffee plantation and harvest, guidance of farming and raising animals, and provision of a breeding pig of 35 kg.

Mrs. Dang Thi Phuc’s family in Binh Minh 6 village of Binh Thuan commune is under special circumstances: her husband died early and left her with two young children; she often got sick because of overwork; her first daughter also affected with diabetes just when she passed the entrance exam for enrolling in a college in Ho Chi Minh city. In order to take care of her children, she sold everything she has, and borrowed a lot from her relatives. Given her desperate circumstances, Regiment BB 95 came to help her family overcome difficulties and losses with provision of labor for farming activities, food, breeding animals for raising …

Soldiers of the regiment also helped local people with community development, such as supports in upgrading 6.3 km of local roads, improving 5.1 km of the internal canal system, conducting free health-checks and distribution of medicines for 206 people, building one loving house worth 70 million VND … In the year 2014, six kitchens of the regiment saved 7,927 kilos of rice and distributed it to poor people in the localities.
