Nam Dinh province: Christmas meeting with Catholic sisters and women of Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage

A meeting with Catholic women at Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage was held in Xuan Ngoc commune of Xuan Truong district on Dec. 18 on occasion of Christmas 2014.

This Christmas meeting was organized by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and Vietnam Women’s Union and attended by nearly 100 Catholic sisters and women at the orphanage center.

Guests to the meeting included Mr. Lê Bá Trinh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee of Religious Affairs (GCRA), Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Hòa, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Women’s Union, Priest Joseph Phạm Ngọc Oanh of Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage and the local authorities’ representatives.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Dương Ngọc Tấn extended best wishes and merry Christmas to Catholic sisters and women in Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage in particular, and Catholics in the whole country in general. He highlighted contributions made by Catholic sisters and women to the Church and society and expressed his hope that Catholic sisters and women would promote the fine tradition of Vietnam women in the cause of building and defending the country.

At the meeting, Catholic sisters and women affirmed that they would promote their role in local Catholic organizations, actively participate in the movements launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union and the locality, contributing to protect national security and build a prosperous country of Vietnam.
