More land proposed for Catholic worshipping in Quang Binh

03/28/2017

Quang Binh provincial departments of religious affairs, natural resources and environment, and authorities of the province’s Bo Trach district have unanimously agreed to propose the provincial government to allocate more land for Thanh Hai Catholic community.

Their consensus was made during a fact-finding visit to Thanh Hai Catholic Church located in Bo Trach district on March 24 in order to assess its need of additional land for enlarging its worshipping establishment.

Thanh Hai Catholic community under Tan My parish has 167 households with over 300 people. In 2001, the Catholic community was given 576 m2 of land by the provincial authorities of Quang Binh for building its worshipping church. However, the community is still in need of land for building supporting facilities for training purpose and installment of religious symbols,…

Upon a request by the Catholic community for additional land in order to build these supporting facilities, the provincial government of Quang Binh assigned competent departments to appraise its real need of land for religious practices and propose recommendations on the issue. Hopefully, given the consensus by concerning departments, the provincial government of Quang Binh will soon approve for additional land allocated to Thanh Hai Catholic community in order to enlarge its worshipping establishment.
